Most of our hosted sites are virtual sites on a shared Apache server. Each site has its own IP address and reverse DNS. These are not folders in a shared site, they operate as if each site is on a separate server. FTP access to each site is limited to site administrators for that site. Our standard pricing includes 20 email boxes and 100 MB of storage (these allocations can be increased at additional cost).
Unlike many hosting providers who put 200 or more virtual sites on a server, we are conservative in the loading of our servers so traffic on one site doesn't slow down another.
We can also provide you a dedicated server, which means you have total control over the content hosted on that physical server, including the ability to create virtual sites. You also get the full disk storage available on the server. Note that you are not allowed to operate a commercial hosting service on the dedicated server.
Server colocation allows you to purchase and configure your own server and colocate it in one of our data centers. We provide Internet connectivity, backed up power, controlled environment, and optionally other services such as DNS and remote reboot.
Cost depends on location (Chicago or Glen Ellyn) and your requirements for space, power, bandwidth, and physical access to the server. Please contact us for a quote.
